Criminal Justice Students Travel to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s Office to Present Finding of an Unsolved Case
Criminal Justice honor students traveled to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s Office to present their findings of an unsolved case. The students received the case in January of 2022 and immersed themselves in a cold case file more than 30 years old. The students applied crime scene, investigative, and forensic techniques learned in Criminal Justice Honor’s Seminar to develop a case summary that included an overview of the past investigation. The students discussed deficiencies of the past investigation, evidentiary issues, advances in DNA techniques, and potential leads in the case. Investigators will follow up on the information presented by the students.
