Just Faith Chapel Forums

Just Faith is a rhetorical platform to expose students to diverse religious ideas and social movements. This is timely work that aids students in the exploration and analysis of current conversations and liberation movements concerning Black life and self-determination. These forums will help to situate discussions in the context of our national life.

First and Second year students will be asked as they register for Just Faith forums to take a short topical pre-survey. After the presentation, students will take a post-survey and be instructed to answer a short writing prompt. The surveys will capture student awareness of current social issues, specifically around racial, economic, environmental, LGBTQIA+, and gender justice.

The speaker themes are derived from quotations attributed to our school’s patron saint, Augustine of Hippo. The themes will also organize our exploration of faith and justice in the five areas of Social Justice. This year’s theme is, “Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.”
