SAU Celebrates Graduate Steven Judd, A Story of Faith, Perseverance, and Triumph
Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) proudly celebrates the remarkable journey of Steven Judd, a 54-year-old Religious Studies major from Raleigh, North Carolina, whose story embodies the power of faith, resilience, and the life-changing support of a dedicated faculty.
Returning to college later in life came with its own set of challenges for Judd, who discovered he had ADHD early in his academic journey at SAU. Yet, with determination, therapy, and the guidance of his professors, Judd learned the study skills needed to succeed. His hard work paid off—he earned honors on the Dean’s List, Provost’s List, and President’s List during his time at the university.
“I just want to thank the professors at Saint Augustine’s University for the sacrifice y’all made for the Class of 2025,” Judd shared. “I appreciate it. I thank God who carried me through.”
Judd’s graduation is made possible by the generosity of Alfred Street Baptist Church, whose contribution helped clear outstanding balances for the graduating Class of 2025, ensuring students like Steven could realize their dreams without financial barriers.
Steven Judd will walk across the stage with his fellow graduates at the 2025 Commencement and 94th Baccalaureate Ceremony on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wake Chapel Church Life Enrichment Center in Raleigh, N.C.
