SAU Celebrates Graduating Senior Ariana White
Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) proudly recognizes Ariana White, a remarkable graduating senior who will receive a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with honors at the commencement ceremony on May 4, 2024. Ariana White’s outstanding academic achievements, leadership roles, and commitment to service embody the spirit of resilience and excellence upheld by the SAU community.
“Ariana White’s journey at Saint Augustine’s University is a testament to the transformative power of education and the unwavering belief in one’s potential,” said SAU Interim President Dr. Marcus H. Burgess. “Her leadership as the Student Government Association President exemplifies the values of service and excellence that define SAU.”
Originally from Newark, NJ, and with roots in Salisbury, NC, Ariana White has distinguished herself as a first-generation college student with a deep commitment to academic excellence and community engagement. Her journey at SAU showcases her dedication to uplifting her peers and contributing positively to the university community.
“I began my journey here on August 5, 2020, as a first-generation high school graduate and a first-generation college student. I was afraid and in a state of uncertainty. I did not believe in myself, and I did not believe that I could graduate college,” White said. “SAU changed my entire mindset throughout my journey. I felt a sense of belonging, and I felt loved. SAU became more than just a place of learning for me. It became my home, a sanctuary to nurture my dreams and unleash my potential.”
In her role as the Student Government Association President for the 2023-2024 academic year, Ariana White has been a guiding force within the SAU community, advocating for her peers and fostering a spirit of unity and empowerment. Her leadership and dedication have not only left a lasting impact on the university but also inspired her fellow students to strive for excellence, fostering a sense of pride and connection among the SAU community.
Ariana White will begin her career immediately after graduation, leveraging her education and experiences to make a meaningful contribution to criminal justice. Her commitment to serving others and making a positive impact in her chosen field exemplifies the values instilled by SAU.
