SAU Holds Free Digital Literacy Courses for Eastern NC Counties
Saint Augustine’s University understands that we are living in an ever-changing technological society. As a result, we have created an opportunity to increase the technology learning experience in the Eastern counties of North Carolina by offering a Digital Literacy Program. This program will offer instruction on topics such as emailing, social media, completing online applications and much more!
The Digital Literacy Program will offer instruction over a period of two Saturdays on the campus of North Carolina Wesleyan College. Residents in Nash, Halifax, Johnston, Edgecombe, Wayne and Wilson counties over the age of 65 years are eligible to participate.
Each session will last for 2 hours and cover age-appropriate topics specifically addressing the group’s goals and needs. Instruction will take place in state-of-the-art classrooms located in Elizabeth Pearsall Library on the beautiful campus of North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount. Light refreshments, a certificate of completion and a take-home device will be provided and there is no cost to program participants.
We look forward to the opportunity to work with the residents in Eastern North Carolina to make this program a great success while increasing digital literacy in our community. Click here to download the application, which should be mailed to campus no later than November 20 so that accepted applicants can be notified by November 27.
