University president Dr. Everett B. Ward, along with the Saint Augustine’s University community, congratulates SAU alumni Gerald Baker ’14, for being elected Wake County’s next sheriff during Tuesday’s general election. Baker, who served in the Wake County Sheriff’s office for 28 years, upset longtime Sheriff Donnie Harrison, by a ten percent margin. Mr. Baker’s win is an example of alumni who continue to “transform, excel and lead” in the community.
