Professor Smith reading poems

Assistant Professor of English, Poet & Small-Press Publisher, Crystal Simone Smith attended the 2019 AWP (Association of Writers & Writing Programs) Conference. With 8,000+ attendees, it is the largest writing conference in the country. Professor Smith read from her award-winning co-authored collection of haiku, One Window’s Light, in Portland, Oregon on Friday, March 29. She also attended several panel discussions and will schedule a lunch and learn session on the following panel: “Making Sure Everyone is Here: The Empathetic Classroom as Inclusive Space.” Learn more about AWP here.
