Sophomore, Imani Cosby, Featured in NCMA’s “Thinking Through Making” Exhibition
Saint Augustine’s University and the Visual Arts Department extend congratulations to SAU Sophomore and Visual Arts Major Imani Cosby. Her textile design is featured in “Thinking Through Making”, an exhibition of works by college student artists at the North Carolina Museum of Art. This exhibition highlights the act of making art over the presentation of a finished product. The exhibition includes Imani’s pencil sketches and digital designs that led to her final textile design. Imani’s design is based on the West African Adinkra symbol Nkyinkyin which represents toughness, adaptability, and devotion to service. The opening reception for the exhibition is a feature of the 2022 College Night event scheduled for Friday, November 16, 2022. “Thinking Through Making” will be on display through February 2023.
